Subject: Invitation to nominate candidate for the Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences for 2012 awards

The University of Colorado has been invited by The Pew Charitable Trusts to nominate a candidate from our research faculty for the Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences award for 2012.  The Pew Scholars Program supports assistant professors of outstanding promise in science relevant to the advancement of human health. The award provides $240,000 in flexible support - $60,000 per year for a four-year period.  In 2012, the Pew Charitable Trusts will name 22 Pew Scholars. For more specific details, go to http://www.pewscholars.org.

The Pew Scholars Program is open to individuals with a doctorate in medicine or biomedical sciences. As of November 1, 2011, nominees must hold full-time appointments at the rank of assistant professor or equivalent. On July 1, 2012, they must not have been in such an appointment for more than three years, whether or not such appointments were on a tenure track.

The full application to The Pew Charitable Trust deadline is November 1, 2011.

Since the CU Boulder campus can forward only one nominee, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will run an internal competition to select our applicant. Internal candidates should submit their materials on-line. Paste the following link into your browser and upload pdfs of the following requested materials: http://competitions.colorado.edu/competitions/pew_biomed_2012/application.php
