Subject: 2012 Packard Fellowship in Science and Engineering Internal Competition

The 2012 Guidelines have been released for the Packard Fellowship in Science and Engineering, a program that provides $875,000 over five years to support the nation's most promising young professors (initial faculty appointments must have been made no earlier than May 31, 2009, and no later than May 31, 2012). The Boulder campus is allowed to make up to two nominations for this prestigious award. Read more about the Packard competition and specific guidelines at: http://www.packard.org/

In order to make our campus selections, potential nominees need to submit the following information to the Vice Chancellor for Research by 5:30PM, January 10, 2012.   • Current CV
  • Two-page research statement of goals for the next five years and their importance
  • Letter of recommendation from Department Chair or other senior colleague
  • List of three external references from whom letters of support can be solicited

An internal committee will select two nominees prior to the March 2012 nomination deadline, and the two campus nominees will have until April 20, 2012 to submit full applications to Packard.
